For many of us, alcohol is a very ingrained aspect of our lives. It's available at work, dinner parties, brunch, events, bars, family catch ups, watching sports and the list goes on.
However, that leaves a big gap for many of the expectant, mum's, new mum's and everyone else that is looking to reduce their alcohol intake and support their health.
This week on the blog we're looking at how alcohol affects our body and managing the expectations of others if you choose not to drink.
As an alternative option to an alcoholic beverage, many of us at the BePure office enjoy kombucha mocktails. There are many recipes available online but this is our favourite combination. It's delicious and easy to throw together during work happy hour or when you have guests over. This recipe serves one.
BePure Kombucha Mocktail Recipe
Ingredients
- 150ml plain or ginger flavoured kombucha
- 100ml sparkling mineral water or unflavoured soda water
- 1 sprig of mint
- Juice of 1 lime (lemon works well if you don’t have limes)
To garnish
- 1 Tbsp of berries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 slices of ginger
Method
- Place the kombucha, mineral water, mint and lime in a tall glass with ice. Muddle to mix the flavours.
- Add garnishes of choice and enjoy!
