2018 sees BePure establishing the first lab of its kind in New Zealand. This lab, located in Hawkes Bay not far from our Havelock North clinic, will be at the forefront of exploring disease prevention and repair through measuring and assessing certain biomarkers and metabolites, and using micronutrients, nutraceuticals and diet and lifestyle factors to alter/optimise various nutrient levels, hormones and enzymes within the blood.
This lab signifies a huge step forward in our mission, opening up a wealth of data that will provide clarity into the potential of optimal health.
The Lab Technician / Lab Assistant will play a key role in the day to day running of the lab, preparing and analysing samples, running and maintaining our machines (GC-MS & LC-MS) and reporting on findings.
THE LAB TECHNICIAN / LAB ASSISTANT WILL HAVE:
- Ideally experience operating LC-MS and/or GC-MS analysis in a pathology laboratory or a commercial environmental laboratory, and the ability to learn if unfamiliar with one of the instruments.
- In lieu of experience using GC-MS or LC-MS, we would consider applicants with a thorough working knowledge of Chromatography.
- Bachelor Degree in Science (Chemistry)
- Impeccable communication skills; written and spoken.
- A genuine enjoyment of working with others towards a common mission.
- A drive to make a difference with your work, using your skills to solve real world problems.
- A background or interest in nutraceuticals, human biology and/or nutrition would be advantageous, but is not make or break.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Quickly get up to speed on how to prepare, run and analyse samples using our methods.
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of samples by LC-MS and GC-MS, reviewing data and preparing reports.
- Form part of our lab team, contributing towards a great environment as the BePure laboratory grows and expands.
