To get our wellness on track for 2019 – our energy and enthusiasm, there are some small lifestyle choices we can prioritise from a place of self-love that will reward us in how we feel. 

1. Getting sufficient and quality sleep
Going to bed at a reasonable hour gives our bodies the time the need to process the day just been, and prepare for the day ahead. The benefits of getting enough, quality sleep each night go beyond just feeling more alert the next day – sleep affects our mood, metabolism, hunger, concentration and hormonal balance to name a few. 2. Be kind to yourself
You are deserving of the same love and care you would give a cherished friend or family member. When we stop beating ourselves up, and start offering ourselves kindness and compassion, we reduce our stress hormones leading us closer to optimal hormonal balance, and it becomes second nature to take good care of ourselves from a place of love. Change the chatter in your head to one of understanding and empowerment.

3. Pack in plenty of nutrients and fresh produce
The food we eat, in particular, talks directly to our cells, affecting how we feel, and how we feel affects how we live and experience our lives.

With healthy fats from the avocado, coconut cream and chia seeds, packed full of the inherent goodness of fresh green produce, and antioxidant punch from Matcha, this recipe is designed to support you in starting your day with spright and vigour!

 

Empowering Morning Matcha Smoothie

Serves 2 | GF, DF

Ingredients

    • 1 avocado, pitted and flesh scooped out
    • 1 tsp matcha powder
    • 1/2 kiwifruit, peeled and chopped 
    • 2 handfuls baby spinach
    • 1/3 cucumber, cut into thin circles
    • 1/3 cup coconut cream or milk
    • Juice of half a lemon
    • Optional: water for consistency if needed
    • Chia seeds, curled coconut, and dried goji berries for serving, but you can add whatever you fancy!


Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients except for toppings into your blender capsule, and pulse until completely mixed. 
  2. If necessary, add water to your desired consistency and blend again.
  3. Pour into glasses, and add toppings of your choice to serve.
